The Arizona Center for Empowerment and the People First Economy Campaign for Arizona reimagines an economy that values people over profit, empowers our workforce, invests in education, and redistributes wealth. Most importantly, we reimagine a state budget that reflects the immediate and long term investment needs of Arizona’s people.
ACE members across the state have come together to create the following 2023 budget priorities most central to the vision of Arizona’s communities not just surviving, but thriving.
Core Values
Economic Equity
For generations, Arizona's powerful and elite have created an economy with the purpose of generating and maintaining wealth, power, and profit through the exploitation of our labor, our lives, and stolen land. ACE's People First Economy Campaign is passing community created public policy where tax dollars are going where communities need them the most, and corporations and the wealthy are paying their fair share.
Multi-Racial
Democracy
At ACE, we believe that Democracy belongs to the people. From School Boards to the Governorship, from the ballot boxes to the Legislature, everyone should have accessible and uncomplicated opportunities to participate in decision-making that governs our communal life. We are working toward passing solutions that will create a true multi-racial, inclsuive Democracy in Arizona.
Freedom to Move
Freedom to move. Freedom to live. Freedom to thrive. Arizona's laws are designed to exclude undocumented and DACAmented communities from fully participating in society free from fear. From driver's licenses to healthcare, we are prioritizing policies and administrative rule-making that expand access to programs, services, and basic necessities that increase opportunities for immigrant communities to thrive.
Water is Life
Water is Life: that conserve the West's water supply while ensuring Arizona's communities continue to have access to clean, accessible, and affordable drinking water. That's why ACE is launching it's water campaign in 2024 that will organize around environmental policies that protect indigenous water sites and ensure corporate conservation.
